New kitten must have me in sight

So brand new kitten, 9 months old. It's her first night here. Right now I have my home sectioned off into two sections. The bathroom/bedroom for the kitten, and the kitchen and living room for the resident cat with the kitten going in a large crate at night. I can't have the two intermingling yet because the resident cat is a little grumpy with new things at first. However the the kitten is extremely fast to getting used to her surroundings and wants to be out and around me already. Which I love but she meows constantly if she can't see me and I hear her jumping at the partition I made trying to get over it Shes been at it for almost an hour. I want to be able to give both kitties my time. Is there anything I can do to help the new one adjust and get used to not seeing me? She came from a household of about 5 cats to one where it's just her and the resident kitty.

She has lots of ball toys, feather toys, food, water, litter box, scratching post. And Ive already played with her for a solid ten minutes twice since having her home in addition to her exploring.
