About a year ago my wife and I were driving down a back road when we came across a pit mix who was obviously starving to death. We knew if we didn't take him he wouldnt have made it another week. He appeared to have been locked inside a cage or tied to a chain because his feet were stained with both feces and urine. Anyway we tooke him in and nursed him back to a full recovery, and have cared for him ever since. So here we are a year later. My wife and I have always had a playful relationship playing pranks on one another and such. Sometimes she play wrestles me and that's usually the end of it. We rarely argue or certainly have never fought before. Over the past few months we have noticed the rescue seems uncomfortable when we play wrestle. He paces back and forth and ultimately we calm him so he knows nothing is wrong. But last night he nipped at my hand. I'm not sure if he would have bitten me, but either way it's a big no no in this house. He only seems to focus on me. My gut tells me he has exoerienced abuse somewhere in a previous house, but that's pure speculation. Does anyone have any idea how I can break him of this habit? We don't want to get rid of him, but that behavior will not be tolerated at my home. None of our other animals act this way.
