So my family rescued a few puppies from a terrible owner the other day. They were living outside in sub-freezing temps as low as -30 F under a deck. Their mother was chained up 50 ft away. They are outgoing and eating solid food, but they have terrible worms and were covered in cockleburs.
After a bath and intense combing, they were looking nice and puppy-like. Today, they started pooping full length (3-8in) worms. They’ve been pooping them all evening. We have them some roundworm treatment, so we hope that works.
My question(s), should I do anything else for these guys? We plan on taking them to the vet soon. Can I turn the dog owner in? Should I?
I just want these puppies to have a good, healthy life. Any suggestions are appreciated as I have never rescued dogs like this before, but I couldn’t just leave them.
