I need identifying what is going on. I got this cat home last night.
He was shy initially but decided to jump on my bed. He started kneading my blanket and purring but I noticed that his method is different compared to other cats. He uses both back and front legs and shudders at the end. I went to move him and brushed my hand against a wet spot.
Is he spraying/marking? What could it be and how to discourage it? It was hard to make him stop and he kept it up for about an hour's time.
Some cat bg: He is approx 5 years old, he was neutered only 2-3 days ago, and I adopted him from a shelter. I'm worried he may spray my entire home as I have a lot of textiles, rugs, and long curtains.
