Why are people more hateful towards cats?

These are the reasons people give me but doesn't explain why they hate or dislike them. "They stare at me", they're just curious. "They are mean", just like dogs they have different personalities and you can change a mean cat. "I'm allergic", doesn't mean you should dislike or hate them. "They're not affectionate", I own a cat that loves to cuddle with me when I lay down and there are many just like her. "They ruin my furniture", buy scratch posts and place them next to your furniture for them to claw at. Many more reasons that can be simply fixed and explained why they do things and how they act. I think people misunderstand them. If someone was viciously attacked by a cat then that's understandable but I was attacked by two dogs but that never made me hate them.
