Hey guys, so I recently adopted a 10 month old, almost 11 month, cat. I’ve had dogs all my life but I got a cat because it was easier for me to have around while at college lol. Well anyway I adopted him and took him back to my apartment at school and he’s been with me for roughly 3 weeks. He’s definitely opened up some and isn’t afraid to walk around and play wherever he pleases but he’s still very skittish around me. I’ve got him, as of last night, to eat his treats out of the palm of my hand but he still won’t let me pet him. He’ll walk up within a couple feet of me and meow, I’ll crouch down slowly and he runs away. Again I’ve never had a cat so it’s different for me, am I doing anything wrong? Is there anything I can do to make him more comfortable and trusting with me?
