I have a 15 year old hyperthyroid cat. Pretty much the only thing that makes me think she has arthritis is because sometimes I will come up behind her, and grab her legs, or pick her up, and she meows. I think maybe it's just because I catch her off guard, because after that I'll grab, and mess with her legs, and she doesn't mind. Another thing is sometimes she likes her legs, and I noticed and red bald spot a couple weeks ago, but the vet gave me some disinfectant wipes, and it seems to be clearing up. If it were arthritis, then you wouldnt think that would help. Another thing is she likes at the top of her paws a lot, but no bald spot or anything. Except for on one of her toes there is a small barely noticable thinning spot. I have some ointment, and when I put it on the fur grows back. Also, recently when we were at the vet, I told them that sometimes when I pick her up, she meows loudly. The vet said she might have some arthritis in her back, but they didnt reccomend doing anything. Something that makes me think she doesnt have arthritis is because shell willing jump on tables, and jump up to scratch her post. She also runs around the house real fast at night time, so I dont know.
