Recently today when I went into my sister's room I caught my cat sitting on the window, the window was wide open because i'm guessing my sister had forgotten to close it, and he was laying/sitting right in the middle. I was getting really anxious and was cautiously walking towards him so that he wouldn't jump and accidentally slip and fall ad I had heard stories of that happening, I was planning on grabbing him and closing the window but I was scared that if I tried to grab him he'd panic so I called my mom over so she could help me but he called our cousin and he said to leave him alone and that he would climb down on his own as he would let him hang around the window in his room and didn't worry a bit. Luckily when he came in the room my cat jumped down onto my sister's bed and I closed the window the best I could (the window is really hard to close fully without someone else's help). My cousin started teasing me and telling me that he would let him be on the window and that I was overreacting. The thing is, we live on the seventh floor of an apartment and my cat is fearless and energetic, and I'm scared that when he's on the window he'll see a bird or something fly by and he'll jump to try and catch and fall to his demise. I'm pretty protective of my cats because the last cat I had died because a car ran over her, my cat used to escape through holes and went hunting or just walked through the city, we have tried everything so they wouldn't escape and they haven't but I can't bear the thought of losing another cat. My cat looks pretty similar to my last cat aside from being male and a couple other things, he's very affectionate with me and climbs through the hole in between the wall and the window just like my last cat. Right now he is sleeping in my bed while I post this. Is my cousin in the right and that I'm overreacting? Or am I reacting accordingly? Any type of advice would be appreciated. Thank you
