A little moral question

Sometime ago my pet hamster died. It lived for 1.5 - 2 years. That is the only loss of a pet I ever expirienced even though I had a lot more of pets

So I wanted myself a bearded dragon for a long time already and I already choose a shop and stuff.

But I was thinking recently: should i get a pet if it's going to die anyway? Is it worth going through this horrible feeling? Also should i post this question on r/Petloss? People who went through a loss of a pet a bunch of times, was it worth it? Does a lifespan matter?

Also sorry for my grammar, English is not my native lang.
