Just posting this because I am curious what other dog owners might have to say. Recently adopted a 18 months young female mutt-there's some red heeler in her and I think whippet, but not sure. I never had a dog like that before-her most favourite thing is to cuddle with me on the couch, but not at my feet, more like almost a human, lying stretched out next to me , her paws embracing me. For hours if not all night. I have in fact taken to sleeping on the couch with her because she is so happy when we sleep together. She also demands frequent petting and cuddling during the day, as she sneaks up on my chair and tries to make me pet and cuddle her. Then she peacefully sleeps and snores loudly. Is this problematic behaviour or normal for a dog? Fortunately, she has learned that the bed is off limits and has stopped trying to get into bed with me.
