Would you have still adopted your pet if you knew all the negative traits ahead of time?

All pets are unique. When I was looking to adopt a dog, the number one thing on my list was that they can’t be dog aggressive. I ended up with a reactive dog that is you guessed it- reactive towards other dogs. Obviously I didn’t know this at the time of adoption.

Of course now I wouldn’t trade her for the world! And I love her to death even with her quirks. Although if I think honestly. I believe if someone at the shelter told me she was dog aggressive I wouldn’t have adopted her. I thought I wouldn’t be able to handle an aggressive dog and it was really important to me to have doggy play dates. But now I love my precious pup to death and though her reactivity is really difficult at times, we are working through it together and I wouldn’t change her for the world.

It makes me wonder how many other things we count out in our lives that we could truly handle/do? Maybe we should have better faith in ourselves.
