hi this is my first time posting and i'm hoping to get some advice. :(
i just caught my cat oliver chewing on a piece of soft plastic wrapper he pulled out of the trash can, and it seems he had chewed and swallowed and 1inx2in piece of it by the time i got to him. i know the best thing to do would be to take him to a vet to be safe, but it is 2am and no vets are open right now in my town. the nearest emergency vet is over an hour away and i do not drive, so i'd have to find a ride. also i can not afford an emergency vet visit unless absolutely necessary. this happened a little over a half hour ago, he's fine now, playing and eating, but i'm worried about what could happen. i also know there's a short window for them to get their stomach pumped and i'm afraid that window has almost passed. i already have a constant fear of anything happening to my cats, they're my whole world, so i'm really upset. i've had unexpected pet traumas in the past so i will not be able to relax until he passes it. ๐ฅ
as long as nothing changes, i think i'll call around when vet offices start to open in the am and try to get him in asap.. advice/thoughts/prayers appreciated :(
