My dog had a bruise/wound that got scabbed/infected, and so the vet trimmed the hair around the wound, cleaned it, and disinfected it. When I got my invoice, I was rather shocked to see a "wound care per minute" at a rate of $8.75 USD per MINUTE. They charged me for 10 minutes, for a total of $87.50 for cleaning a wound.... IS THIS NORMAL? I've never heard of vet's charging per minute to clean a wound... I would assume that cleaning up the wound would be either part of the initial visit or at least a flat rate fee.
Edit: I forgot to add that the vet made a small incision into the wound as well to get a sample of the "pus" for culturing.....so technically they made the "wound" "worse"
