I am going to keep this as short as possible
My dog caught distempted, we took him to the vet and he diagnosed him with it, informed us of the low survival rate. After that we did the only thing we could and hoped for the best
I has been 2 days at most and my mother raised the option of putting him down, i jumped immediately to shut it down but then she told me "Do you know how much suffering he must be in? he probably cannot sleep and being spasming continiously all day must be horrible"
Of course, i cannot just ask my dog how he's feeling and i'm worried that he's in awful agony like my mother said, but i don't really know if these spasms hurt at all
In the same case, a vet told us that dogs don't really care about missing limbs (once the pain is gone of course) and that it doesn't really bother them emotionally, so i don't know how much my dog is being affected by this
Euthanizing a dog because he has to spend a couple of weeks spasming sounds extreme, but i don't want to make him go trough so much suffering just because i don't want to loose him
I just need more information on this
