For the last year or two, my cat has been peeing outside of the litter box. He is 9 years old and neutered. I took him to the vet and they found no issues. I clean the spots that he pees with a cleaner designed for cleaning cat urine. I tried confining him to one room with his litter box and food for a few months but that did not change his behavior. I am at a lost for what to do.
He still uses his litterbox but clearly not all of the time. I scoop it daily or every other day if I am super busy and regularly replace the litter in the box. I have tried approx 7 different brands of litter but nothing seems to change his behavior.
His front claws are removed so he can not go outside. I am at the point where I may need to find him a new home because I can not continue to live with this. What can I do!?
