Advices please, we rescued a cat 11 years ago and he’s slowly become happy (after 11 years he finally sits on the sofa with us!). We moved to a new house with a large garden so decided to get a rescue dog that’s friendly with cats. The dog is fine with our cat (chases him in the garden but playfully) but the cat is spending more and more time away from the house. The cat hadn’t eaten here for two days so I carried the cat in and sat him down with some food which he chomped down.
Any thoughts on how I can get the cat to be okay with the dog? Or is he just throwing a hissy fit with the arrival of the dog? It’s only been 3 days but I want to make sure I’m not driving the cat away, otherwise the dog goes back to the pound!
