We’ve been seeing skunks in the yard lately.
The other day, my cat left the house and didn’t return for 2 days. We were really worried. When he finally came back - The dogs kept sniffing him because he smelled a little strange. Not like he was sprayed, but he obviously smelled different to the dogs, as if he had the scent of another animal on him.
Being that the cat is always outside, I can’t imagine that he hasn’t run into the skunk at some point.
The cat is always eager to get outside and sometimes spends the night outside.
I haven’t seen them together, but I still have a hunch that they must see each other often (for as much as my cat is outside and as often as I see the skunk) And for my cat to come in smelling... strange.... but not sprayed, leads me to believe he’s been around other animals, but if with the skunk, the relationship must not be hostile since he hasn’t been sprayed.
Anyways. Is it possible? What are the chances that my cat has befriended a wild skunk?
