My BF and I adopted a 13-year old female cat with starting kidney problems about three months ago. She is cuddly, lovely and we enjoy her very much. But, she started peeing on our bed very early after we got her. I mean, she was probably stressed and accidents happen. Not cool, but not a problem. It kept happening so much, we went to the vet. She is completely healthy, apart from the renal problems. But she gets medicine and special food for that, so the vet said that shouldn’t be the issue. She gave us some anti anxiety meds. We have used it for over 2 months now and it worked, for making her more relaxed and at ease. But the peeing is still getting worse! She pees on our rugs, couches and bed. So soft things. She does not have a UTI and she likes her litter. She’s had the same litter for years. She also uses her litter boxes normally, so they aren’t the issue. They get cleaned/scooped out twice daily.
What can we do? We are desperate and we really do not want to find her a different home, but having everything peed on multiple times a day is just so tiring!
