Growing up, my parents would never let our family get a dog or cat. They grew up in Ghana and a majority of dogs they came across were wild and dangerous (a rabid dog bit off my aunt's finger lmao). When others would mention their pet dying or the extent they would go for it, I could never fully grasped it. It seemed absurd truly. Like a friend from school, took a few days off from school for the death of her dog, and it seemed completely strange to me.
Until my older sister got a puppy pitbull named Nala (from the Lion King lol). Just being with her for this past half year, I understand. I would do ANYTHING for her. I want to show her nothing but love, care, and compassion. She's truly my niece lmao. I love that pup to death.
