I adopted an adult cat 6 weeks ago. I play with him regularly, feed him well, try to make his life interesting, and overall do my best to take care of him.
But I don’t feel very attached.
His personality is not the personality I expected when I picked him at the shelter and he has some behavioural issues (play and petting aggression) that I didn’t know about until week 2.
There have been a few days where I thought I was making progress on the aggression with him but later he attacked and drew blood…
At the moment he feels like a difficult housemate who I care for. Not a furry family member I love.
At what point should I expect to feel attached to him?
I want him to be happy and live a good life…
Am I just not the right person for him?
