For context, for the last few months we have had my friends cat in our house along with my two cats. My friends cat we will call N. My boy cat is Chomps and my girl cat is Eres.
N and Eres didnt really get along. It wasnt fights or anything too bad but some hisses and low ears. Every now and then theyd run after one another and there would be more hissing. Instead of eres laying on the floor like usual, she started hiding in the office chair under a blanket or another defensible position. Unfortunately my friend had no where else to go and thus either did her cat. She recently was able to move out and take N with her.
Since then eres has been SO CLINGY. And i joked saying "this is what gratuity looks like in a cat!" Drooling and purrs and demands to sit on the couch so we could cuddle. It is cute, and im not mad at it. But now she started meowing at my bedroom door and scratching at it. She is 4 years old and has NEVER done this before. She usually gives up after 2-ish mins but comes back a few hours later to try again. I dont want this to turn into a bigger issue. The only thing thats different is the abcense of N cat! In the past eres would always sleep in front of our door and wait for us to wake up. But now she is demanding entry i guess? She just wants non stop cuddles. I have a training collar but i dont want to use it if its something she will stop on her own when she is done having "gratitude". Has anyone else seen this? Advice?
