Hi, I asked this question on r/askvet and all I got was crickets.
I found three baby kittens in my backyard five days ago and I’m raising them.
I am feeding them a store bought kitten formula every 2-3 hours including in the evening hours.
They are healthy happy, and responsive. The only deal is I can’t get them to poop!
I have tried everything. I’m stimulating their butts with a warm rag, I use a little oil as lubricant, I’ve tried massaging their bellies. I’ve even put some olive oil in their formula to help their stomachs.
They pee like race horses. It’s just that they’re not pooping. And this isn’t a problem with one cat, it’s all three. None of them have pooped in the five days I’ve had them!!
Their stomachs are a little bloated, but they don’t appear to be in any pain. They walk around, teethe on my fingers, eat like crazy, and purr like little race cars.
Is this normal?? I found them while it was raining outside and they were covered in mud. They didn’t eat a whole lot the first two days.
