Rescued a 5 year old female cat from our local shelter almost 3 months ago. When I received her she was already spayed they informed me once they STRUGGLED to put the poor thing in a box, that she had had issues with inapropriate unrination and she hated other cats (which I don't have) but at that point she was in the box and it broke my heart to decline her after seeing the struggle. Fast forward 3 months she still hates both of my dogs and physically scratches and hisses at them and although they are curious I let them be curious...from a distance. They each have their corners but even then she gets so upset she will pee on my sofa and has even peed down my back which left me shocked and upset. She has 3 total litterboxes all over the house, I use enzyme based cleaners to clean after everyone of her accidents and I spend 1-2 hrs daily with her. She is so incredibly sweet with me and is so patient with children but I am at my witts end I have thought about making her a full time outside cat just to avoid returning her but she HATES being outdoors ☹️ I have rescued animals all of my life and never given up on any but I'm worried she is miserable here and my dogs are miserable and so is my couch I just don't know if there is anything else I can do besides taking her back to the shelter and hope she will be adopted by someone who has no other animals as I don't think it's just cats she hates I think it's all animals. All advice is appreciated!
