I live in an abusive household and I suffer from depression, anxiety, and ocd. My abusive household does not let me leave my home, drive a car etc. so most days I spend walking in the park or in my room. This has been my lifestyle for the past 2 years, I’m not allowed to see friends and I’m very lonely. I have so much free time due to the isolation so I know I would be able to take care of a pet, but my family are animal hatters and would never let me get one. I have friends who have offered to help me get one to give me a sense of responsibility and companion ship but I want to be able to care for a pet the right way and make sure no needs are neglected. What could be an easy pet I could keep and take care of while hiding it from my family ? I have a relatively large room as well as a balcony and I spend lots of time outdoors at parks so if there is a breed of dog that does not require much maintenance I may be able to care for it. I have allergies to certain dog and cat breeds as well so it would have to be hypoallergenic. I’ve thought about getting a Russian blue cat for the longest time but I don’t know if hiding one would be doable. Ideally I’d like a pet I can cuddle with !
Any thoughts ?
