Advice needed - Cat keeps peeing on the front door mat.

We've had Lola for over a year. She turned 8 in July. We got her from Cats Protection. Recently we noticed a strong smell in the hallway. We discovered she was peeing on the front doormat. The doormat was old and gross so we threw it away anyway. We washed the area and bought a new one. For a day it was fine. No peeing.

Then we woke up this morning and she had peed on the new doormat. So she clearly did it while we were asleep. She is still using her litter tray but only the very front of it. We can't move the tray to the front hallway because there's literally no space for it. I've let her outside but she only wants to chew on grass and sit there. There have been other recent behaviours such as standing on the kitchen table and standing on my brothers desk (his bedroom is at the front of the house) and either staring at me or out of the window (I doubt she'd be able to see much - she can see the street but not much of our front garden, only some of the lawn).

Does anyone know why she could be doing this and how to stop it?
