My cat has had a cough for a few months. Some days he wouldn’t cough at all, so we thought maybe just hairball. But eventually I realized that this was no hairball. I took him to his vet. They did an X-ray and he has fluid around his heart.
They did blood work also and there are no signs of an actual heart condition I.e congestive heart failure.
They recommended me to a pet cardiologists. I do not have one in my city. So far I’ve called 3 from out of town. 1 is booked til November, 1 is booked till the new year and the 3rd hasn’t returned my voicemail yet.
His cough is getting worse. And I feel like the only option I’m being given is to wait and just hope it doesn’t get worse. And if it does become an emergency then take him to an animal hospital.
But maybe if we can get ahead of it, we can prevent it from becoming an emergency.
Any help, suggestions or anything is very appreciated. I have no idea what to do.
