Just adopted a new kitten and my resident cat appears scared

I have a beautiful female calico cat named Mini. She is now 1 year old and I've had her for about 9 months. I adopted her when she was 4 months old. My plan was always to get another cat eventually. So this Thursday, I went to PetSmart and found the perfect kitten who we named Tux. Tux is a 4 month old male tuxedo cat, who is the friendliest kitten ever.

Day 1, I take Tux into his designated "Safe Space" and shut the door. Immediately, my cat Mini knows something is going on and runs upstairs and is meowing at the door and sticking her paw through the door. Little Tux walks over and Mini starts hissing. I try to play with Mini through the door, but she doesn't play back. She then sat further away from the door looking. I take a sock and rub it all over the new kitten and place the sock near Mini. She sniffs it and starts hissing.

Day 2, Mini will cautiously walk up the stairs but looks through the foot of the door where Tux is at cautiously. Tux is never in view though. I have since switched Tux's bedding with Mini's. Mini now will sniff Tux's bedding without hissing. However now Mini spends the majority of her time downstairs. I tried coaxing her upstairs with turkey, but she would not go all the way to the top. My only problem now, is that she won't willingly go towards the door. If you pick her up, she will squirm and wiggle until she is free and run away. We allowed Tux to go into our bedroom since I feel bad for leaving him in 1 room the majority of the day. When Mini hears the door to Tux's room open, she will hide and look upstairs.

Day 3, Mini is still cautious but she will come into the bedroom. (My bedroom is right next to Tux's room). She currently is in my bed sleeping. Now, I don't know what my next move should be. From all of my research everyone says to feed the cats on the opposite side of the door, but Mini will not go towards the door at all. And when she is somewhat close to the door, Tux is out of view and sleeping. I'm not really sure what to do next to integrate them. I want Mini to have a buddy.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
