Species: Cat
Age: 2 months 28 days
Sex/Neuter status: Female (Spayed)
Breed: Shorthair domestic (mix)
Body weight: 2.5 pounds
History: Adopted 6 days ago, spayed 6 days ago
Clinical signs: Spay site began to form a small lump near incision site yesterday. It looked like a zit/pimple forming under the skin and then it opened a little bit (small amount of blood came out with just a little ooze). She is acting completely normal, very active and playful. Eats/drinks a lot. Using the bathroom fine. We had not used the cone until the wound opened up. She never licked/played with her wound until it slightly opened and the cone has been on ever since. Is this normal? We have a vet visit lined up this week for shots and other things, but it is in a few days and we are wondering if we should be concerned and should get her in sooner.
Duration: 1 day
