Urgent kitten situation: advice needed

I'm super sorry if this isn't the right sub, I'm just kind of desperate on what to do in this situation ^^:

My friend J messaged me asking for advice, but I'm not super sure on what to do in this situation so I'm looking for some advice on hereJ's mom got a kitten, who J has been calling Rudy. (J lives with their grandparents.) However J's mom couldn't keep Rudy, and dropped him off at J's grandparents house, asking them to cat-sit til she got back from somewhere. Turns out J's mom wasn't actually planning on coming back, and just wanted to leave the kitten there so she didn't have to take care of him. J called her asking what to do with the kitten, and J's mom replied saying to just "put him out".

The kitten is way to young to just be left out on the streets like that. He's a male, J estimated around a month or two old maybe(?), but it's hard to tell. Not visibly malnourished or sick. He refuses to eat anything but wet cat food, which J has been feeding him, along with water to drink. He's been staying in their room, but their grandparents aren't keen on keeping him, so they need to get rid of him soon.

J has access to general cat food and necessities because they already have two cats (who get along with Rudy decently.) My family can't take Rudy in, due to the fact we already have an extremely territorial cat aswell as three small dogs. My dad is going to ask if any of his co-workers can take the cat in, but we aren't sure of what's going to happen.

Any advice possible, about taking care of the kitten, getting the kitten a home, etc is greatly appreciated!! I'll link a picture of the cat here
