Yesterday I had to let my beautiful 16 yo shih tzu go to the rainbow bridge. Although Logan was 16+ he was in pretty good shape. 2 months ago he got sick along with my 2 younger dogs and my 2 young grand dogs after they ate pupperoni. They all were vomiting but got over it after a day or so except for my Logan. He ended up needing subq fluids, antiemetics and was on a bland diet. Since then he had continued to vomit off and on as well as have this snorting sound. His vomit was clear liquid but also foamy and very slimy. Back and forth to the vet we went. He finally went to a specialist and spent 2 1/2 days in the hospital. After all the testing it was determined he had a bleeding stomach ulcer. He couldn’t eat, drink… yesterday I had the vet come and set him free. I’m devastated to say the least. I KNOW it was all caused by the pupperoni. The younger dogs could cope but it was too much for my old boy. Please do NOT buy pupperoni!!! From a very heartbroken dog mom 💔
