My cats are nearing a year now and its concerning me how much they sleep and dont play. First off, they dont play with each other much. Theyll usually ignore each other for the most part which sucks because I brought two so that they would keep each other entertained. Im studying a lot so I spend most of my day at the computer and I feel so bad when I notice them sleeping all day or walking around aimlessly, Especially since I live in a small place.
Toys: Ive bought a bunch but they always lose interest in them after a while. One used to like stuffed mice but doesnt care for them anymore. One used to go crazy over crinkle balls but again doesnt care for that either. They also used to go crazy over springs and while they still like them its not like how they used to. Ive bought just about every cat toy I can think of and they always seem to lose interest within the first week.
Outdoors: My cats love going outdoors. I try to take them out 1x a day but its not possible everyday. Even then if I take them out for an hour its not enough to keep them entertained all day.
I know its normal for cats to sleep a lot but I can tell that theyre bored and waiting for me to engage with them. But even when I do engage with them they dont really react. I have the wand toy and one goes crazy for it but the other ignores it. I try throwing their balls but they just watch it and dont move. I just dont know what to do to make them more active and engaged. They used to make muffins all the time to show that they were happy but they dont even do that now. They dont even sleep near me. Theyre not afraid of me theyre just bored it seems.
Also if anyone can recommend a cheap but fun cat tree I would really appreciate it. Though I feel like theyll lose interest in this too.
