My therapist recommends me (M27) to get a dog or cat since it can help getting some structure in life and help with some minor episodes of depression. I do love dogs and cats since forever but was never sure if I could handle the responsibility.
I'm still not sure if its a good idea tbh. I work fulltime (so 8 hours a day officialy- but more like 5 currently), but for the whole next year I will be in homeoffice and even when I get back into the office i have flexible hours so I could walk the dog in my break (i only live a few km/miles from work). I'm also kinda low energy personality wise, so I dont travel at all and don't go out at night except to my GF once and a while.
Would a low energy breed be okay or would you advise against it? If so, how about a cat ? I heard they are able to spent some time alone. Finances are not an issue.
Thanks
