Dog with Beef Allergies

Hello,

I have a 4yo Jack Russel Terrier that has some unusual eyelid swelling and she was always scratching at it, which is causing her to rid the hair off from around her eye. We brought into a vet about a year ago and got her tested for food related allergies.

She tested high for beef (and liver) and chicken. So we switched out her food for things like salmon, lamb and pork (all which rated 0 for her on the test). My dad occasionally feeds her a few pieces of beef fat from a steak because some clerk at a local pet food store said that beef fat has no protein so it should be safe in low quantities. So now I'm curious if it's something environmental instead.

Her eye hasn't improved that much but I was curious if an environmental test is worth getting done. There's only so much one can do about the environment depending on what the dog is allergic to.
