Help choosing second dog for our family

I have a shy, aloof quiet older small dog who likes me only and not my husband (biggest problem we have with her) .

between these 2 choices, which would you choose?

1. rescue dog 2-3 year old; smart & affectionate; who likes all people very quickly & likes my husband and me equally; looks are 6/10; barks at strangers, other dogs in the street /dog park & sheds a lot (these are the annoying traits to both of us, not sure if easily trainable regarding the barking). initial meeting, put paw on my leg immediately for pets.
2. rescue dog 1 yr old; looks are 8/10 (and a rarer breed that I always wanted to own); shy, has a history of being afraid of men. does not shed & very quiet so won't bark much at all. i'm just afraid this dog will never warm up to my husband, and I can't have 2 dogs that don't like my husband. don't know this dog as well due to the shyness. initial meeting, won't let either of us pet him.
