How do I make my lovely senior dog, who has been sedated, calm down and fall asleep?

My 12F Siberian Husky went for an X-ray today due to her arthritis. They sedated her and asked me to give her epleptin before bed. She's never had epleptin before.

Ever since I collected her she won't stop these deep and sad howl/moan/cries. I've been on call with my vet and he said she's fighting sedation. Probably cos she's been at the vet all day and wants to be awake at home. She seems super confused, loopy and can barely walk straight due to the meds.

I've been lying next to her for the last hours but this is just killing me.

Does anyone have any advice?
