I can’t tell if my 2 y/o cat likes my kitten?

Idek if this is the right subreddit for this, but if not just pls redirect me :) I adopted an 8 week old kitten last week. I have a 7 year old cat who’s pretty grumpy and just likes to be left alone, and a 2 year old cat who just wants to play with everything including her big sister who again. Just wants to be left alone So I bring baby in last week. Set him up in my spare room with his own litter box, food bowls, and lots of comfy blankets/old sweaters to sleep on. I’ve been trying to slowly introduce my 2 year old cat and the kitten, but I’m getting kinda mixed reactions from her. The other day I let her into the spare room while I was sitting on the floor with him. She starts sniffing around and finally approached him, wide eyed and ears back. She sniffed him a few times and then licked his paws which I took as a good sign, but then she pounced and got on top of him and had a good grip on him so I took her out of the room and separated them again. But now every. Single. Time. I’m in the room sitting with him my other cat scratches on the door or swats under it (there’s a pretty big gap under the door) but when I open the door, it’s a rinse and repeat of the other day. Sniffs around for a minute before coming up the kitten. Sniffing/licking a few times. Then attacking again. I can’t tell if it’s just her trying to play with him and getting a little rough, or if she genuinely doesn’t like him. Does anyone have any idea on what’s going on in her little brain or any ideas on how to make the transition easier on everyone?
