I live in an apartment with one roommate. During the evening, I want my cat to stay in my room so he doesn't disturb my roommate's sleep. I close my door, have created blockades, and sprayed orange scent near the door. He is truly a genius as he gets around the blockades, ignores the orange scent, and can open my bedroom door handle. How do I motivate him to stay inside? As a side note, my roommate likes cats. It is just more of a personal space thing for me, as we both prefer sleeping with our doors closed.
