My mom and sister live in a different city with two cats (4yo and 8 months) and a roommate. They were supposed to come home (where the rest of my family lives) for christmas, leaving the cats with their roommate. The roommate needs to leave the day before christmas, so now we have a discussion what to do. My sister's is as follows: Noon of 24th they leave the cats with plentiful of food and water, two litterboxes etc., on evening of 25th my sister comes for a night to take care of the felines. She leaves the next morning and cats are alone until the next day, when the roommate comes home. Would that affect the cats? Is this a good idea?
