So some friends of mine have 4 cats and 3 dogs. They are about to have a baby and need to rehome 1 dog and 1 cat. They are also have issues with that particular dog marking in the house. Because of the baby they feel this is a health hazard. I told them I would try and help them find a new home for the dog so I posted on a local FB group. I was shocked when I got multiple rude comments about how it was disgusting that they wanted to rehome their dog and that they clearly aren't fit to be parents and other such things. But if not for the health and benefit of your pet and your child, why should you rehome a pet? I had to rehome a dog once because I was moving and unable to care for the dog in the new place. I also received some mean messages. But nothing like this where strangers were badmouthing my friends ability to care for their child. I don't understand.
