Side note : Sorry for the lack of info on the actual kittens, the lady feeding them on the street said she found them in a dumpster so there's no possible way for me to contact the mother's owner. Also, I have only had them for a week.
Adopted two 2 month old kittens (siblings, male and female). After a visit to the vet the male has a fungal infection and is taking an antifungal syrup (containing itraconazole), the female is also taking it just in case she's infected as well.
Despite this, the male is super playful, super energetic and all around acts like how a kitten should act. The female on the other hand has very low energy, sleeps all day, doesnt run and is even slow with getting to her litterbox or food bowl. She also doesn't cover her feces well and has played only once. (A few times she has "pawed" at something, as if to hit it, but then lost interest almost immediately).
While I'm pretty sure she has some extreme lethargy, she doesn't have any sort of appetite loss. On the contrary, she is incredibly food motivated and will never ignore a treat, compared to her brother who eats at a more moderate amount and frequently ignores treats. They both are quite cuddly as well.
Info I feel like could help :
-Is her nose wet or dry? Wet
-Is she warm to the touch? Not any warmer than her brother
-Any diarrhea? Not really? They've been having soft poop but I wouldn't call it diarrhea but I'm pretty sure it's due to her diet, they had been only eating dry food on the streets and the 2 wet food cans the vet gave us during the weekend seemed to solve that issue. (Need to go get some asap)
-Deworming pills? Here's where I'm confused, she took her first at the vet on November 12 and he told us to give her the 2nd half on the 22, but I thought it was every 3 months? Also same thing was said for the male, he took his on November 8 and he told us to give the 2nd pill to him on the 18 but I thought it was meant for 8 December? I'm really confused.
I'm leaning towards some sort of gastrointestinal issue but I have no idea.
Also question : the male is 1 kilo 300 grams and the female only 800 grams, is that normal?
Please don't be afraid to ask for any other information that could be useful!
Also sorry I'd anything is misspelt or anything like that I'm just extremely tired lol
