Cat behavioral issues with new puppy

Long post, hoping to be as thorough as I can.

My partner and I own two cats: an old cat that we've had for a few years and a second that we adopted over a year ago, who's now two years old. The newer, younger cat had no problem adjusting to our older one. They are very friendly and have never had any behavioral problems such as peeing outside the litterbox, fighting, etc.

A week ago our roommate brought home a brand new puppy by surprise and let it run around the downstairs. He chases and barks at both cats, who are curious but obviously nervous and run away upstairs to our room where the dog can't reach. The older cat has lived with dogs before and is totally fine, but the other night we noticed our younger cat peed/peeing on our bed, just a little bit, 3 times. We think he is too scared to go downstairs to his only litter box, which has become the puppy's domain when we are home (he goes to work during the day with our roommate). And just this evening, the younger cat came downstairs and peed a little on his infrequently used bed, and the pee was a little pink. I can't tell if he had trouble peeing, but that seemed the case.

I'm hoping for some input on this situation. We're working with our roommate to set boundaries for the puppy until it is older and a little more responsive to training, but what can we do for this cat? If the pee is pink, could that be due to a UTI? Is that just bad timing or can the stress of a new puppy cause a UTI? So far he hasn't changed his eating schedule, we haven't moved food/water (available upstairs and downstairs), and he's having no other issues. He's going to the vet ASAP but in the meantime we're worried about him. Hopefully r/pets can provide some input?
