So I’m planning on taking in two kittens that my friend’s cat had recently because they had no where else to go. I did a ton of research on everything to make sure I’m able to provide the care necessary for the growing fur balls. While searching for a nearby rescue center that does spaying/neutering felines, I’ve discovered that there’s a city ordinance of having your pets microchipped and licensed. Now while I am fine with taking them in to get fixed, chipped, as well as getting shots, I had no idea that what seems like the entire state of Florida requires your pets to be licensed? I’ve personally never heard of that because every pet owner I’ve known do not have their pets registered or vaccinated. I’m a student living by myself so there’s little money to spare. Is there anyway to get by just going to a clinic to get their vaccines and shots without having to register my cats? I plan on keeping the kittens as indoor pets too so I’m not sure if vaccines are necessary. (I know rabies shots are legally required so I’ll do that for sure) Thank you for any advice!!
TL;DR Legally suppose to have my pets registered, but is there anyway to get by without doing so, and still getting them spayed/neutered and vaccinated?
