How to hide a cat for a week?

Long story short- Grandpa died. He left his cat (5yo neutered male Manx mix) to me. I live in a no pet apartment. I qualify for ESA (PTSD+anxiety+depression). I asked doc to fill out application. Doc agrees, says he will send paperwork off.

Doctor did NOT finish paperwork. Cat had nowhere else to go. Cat is now in my apartment bedroom. It'll take a week for him to get the paperwork in. I do not want to lose deposit. I do not want to lose cat. I am panicking.

How do I hide him until the paperwork arrives? I have curtains up and pinned to the wall. Cat has cat tower, scratching post, a lot of toys, food, water, litterbox...

I'm having a full on panic attack lol please help.

How could I mask any errant meowing while I'm at class? Should I skip class? I've never had a cat before.
