Hey all, I have a question regarding my Okapi.
I have owned an okapi, named Sanji, for a little over a month now (first time owner). Despite him being friendly and content, I have had a lot of difficulty house training him. I am no stranger to training animals; I have grown up around animals my whole life, and have had significant experience owning and training dogs, cats and toads in addition to others and even have some experience with sealions (not mine, but a cousin’s). Sanji is between 2 – 3 year old and isn’t exactly from a domesticated species, but teaching it to respect the property and to not defecate in the house should be doable. Despite searching around both online and off, I have found no help in this matter; there seem to be no guides or training resources anywhere else so I decided to ask about it here. Has anyone had any experiences with house training okapis or know of any resources that I could use?
