Is it normal for kittens to knead their claws *constantly* when receiving attention?

My nine month old female mackerel tabby is one of the most vocal and affectionate cats I have ever met! She always wants attention when I come home from work or anywhere else. She'll trill and meow at me for a while until I give it to her!

Every time I pet her or give her scratches, she kneads her claws on the closest and softest thing within her vicinity. I don't think I have have ever given her affection without the kneading. It's a bit frustrating in a way that I have to trim her claws, and when she's is kneading them and not keeping them relaxed, it makes it hard to do!

Is this normal for a lil kitty her age? And is it something that she will grow out of? Thanks!
