We had to put my 9 month old kitten down last week and it’s been heartbreaking, but we miss having a second cat run around and pretty sure my cat has been looking for someone to play with, so I feel like we’re all ready for another kitty at home. My cat is 1.5 years old and I’m wondering if it would matter if I get a male or female kitten? My kitten was a male and when I brought him home, they got along after 3 days of playing underneath the door. I read that female cats usually don’t get along and that you should pair them with the opposite sex, but I’m wondering if that’s true? The only female cat she has ever met was my mother-in-law’s grumpy fat 11 year old cat when she was just a tiny kitten, and all they did was hiss and growl at each other.
