We’ve had our male (neutered) cat for nine years. He started urinating outside the litter box about 3 years ago. There had been no sudden changes, no other cats in the area, we just noticed it after we got back from a trip. We have traveled many times before but for some reason this one was different.
We’ve met with animal behaviorists, animal communicators, veterinarians, I’ve had phone calls with animal shelters asking for advice and nothing has helped this behavior. It has now been three years of him peeing on things couches, clothes, carpets, heating vents, our son’s clothes and toys and nothing has altered his behavior. He will do it both when we’re home and when we’re gone for the day at work.
I’ve had pets my whole life and always swore that I would never give up an animal because I always believed you can work with them. I love him to death, but I’m at my breaking point and don’t know what to do. Any advice would be so much appreciated...
