I would adopt every cat I saw if I could. But this is real life and I'm not that insane.
We have 2 very happy female rescues that cohabitate extremely well.
I have been trying to decide if we should adopt a 3rd when I came across a sweet little tuxedo boy cat at a shelter.
He's comparable in age to ours, but I'm concerned with upsetting the balance we already have going. Our girls are perfectly content.
Will 3 be a crowd? We've had 1 girl for 2.5 years and 1 for about 2 years. Their introduction went very well and they are best buds. The last thing I'd ever want is to screw up their happy cat club.
Will adopting a 3rd make them less sociable with each other or my husband and I? Also, I know males can be a spray risk, which I can't have. And I could never return him to a shelter, it would break my heart. Will having female companions make this more or less likely?
Anyone have experience?
