Hey everyone,
Planning a vacay this summer and I'm considering bringing the dog, both to save the money that I'd spend boarding and also to save the heartache of separation anxiety.
I'm wondering how many of you have experience vacationing with dogs, and how you handle the details?? I've found a bunch of hotels that allow pets, but you aren't allowed to leave the dog alone in the room unsupervised (not something I'd want to do much anyways) so how do you handle doing things like going for dinner at a nice restaurant, catching a show or movie at the theatre, even grocery shopping, etc., etc.?
I'm also wondering if anyone has experience bringing their dog on a plane. My dog would fit in the cabin with me, and it'd be nice to get out of the country for a change, but I'm wondering what this experience is like for both owners and their dogs. If it's going to be traumatic, I'll opt for a road trip instead.
Pros/cons lists for any of the above or stories highlighting problems you've ran into and how you solved them are all appreciated!!!
