We have two male cats from the same litter and they're nearly two years old . They've never warmed up to visitors and won't come out of hiding no matter how long the human is here for. They're basically afraid of any noise or large object that comes into the home, seriously they're the most timid cats I've ever know... but they love the sound of the furnace. Every time the furnace comes on they both immediatly stop whatever they're doing and shuffle into the storage area where the furnace is. We live in a basement suite and the upstairs furnace doesn't supply any heat to our suite, so I don't believe they associate the sound with warmth. Anyway, its out of character for them to be attracted to noise but it's cute as hell. Does anyone else have a cat that does this or know why ours do?
